Journey to Seattle

What a whirlwind the last couple of weeks have been.  I have several blog posts I want to do but between moving, looking for a house, taking care of a newborn, buying Christmas presents, and trying to navigate around a new city, blogging has been on the bottom of the list.  Here are some pictures of our journey to Seattle.

Movers packed up our whole house in a day.  It was so nice having someone else pack everything but I'm sure it'll be interesting to open the boxes that hold the contents of the junk drawer and those other random cabinets I didn't make time to organize.

We lived in a sea of boxes for a couple days before the movers came to fill the truck.  The girls thought it was great and handled this part beautifully.  We marked off our dining room as the "safe zone" which held the things that came with us.  The girls had comfort seeing the special items they picked in this area.

It took the movers all day to load the truck.  The girls enjoyed watching the guys work.

It's slightly embarrassing that we needed this huge semi for all of our stuff.

Last pictures in front of our first family home.

I still can't believe we're a family of 5!

Once evening rolled around, the house started to get cold since the movers needed the door open.  The girls watched, Frozen by the fireplace in our master bedroom.

After the movers were done, we drove to a hotel for the night since our house was empty.

Since a car transporting service was picking up our cars the next day, all 12 pieces of luggage, 3 carseats, and 4 carry ons needed to come up to our hotel room.  Don't worry, we gave the bellman a nice tip.  We had so much luggage because we needed to bring everything we would need for the next 2 months while we were in temporary housing.  We won't have access to all of our stuff until we find a permanent home.

The next day, we headed to the airport.  We managed to get all of this into a taxi, which was a suburban.  Joe managed the luggage, I managed the children.

We were close to being the last people on the airplane because we didn't realize exactly how long it would take to get through the airport.

Our apartment in Seattle.  The girls looking at Lake Union from our balcony.

Our living room has turned into a Duplo building factory.  The girls have adjusted better than expected to the move.  Naomi has had the hardest time with the transition, which has mostly affected her sleeping, which affects her temperament.

My next post will have some pictures from our adventures in Seattle over the past week and a half.
