First Day of School 2020
I've always loved the idea of homeschooling but never felt fully confident that it was the best choice for our family. But... this year seemed like the perfect year to give it a try! No masks, no distance learning, not having to worry about school closing or outbreaks, and being able to choose our own curriculum seemed like the better fit for us this year. I'm not sure how long our homeschooling journey will last but after the first few weeks, I am loving it!
Every school year starts with a first day of school breakfast that usually consists of donuts and a little gift.
We transformed our playroom into a playroom/schoolroom! I love how it turned out. Everyone has their own desk, the babies still have room to play, and there's still plenty of room for toy storage in the bins.
*Everything NEW is HARD at first*
Here are some pictures of our learning from the last few weeks. We do a literacy and math rotation every day where I work with each kid individually, and then we all come together to do our unit study that covers all subjects but math. This month our unit study was on North American Birds. We are enjoying learning about so many different birds and doing all kinds of activities such as dissecting owl pellets, making bird nest cookies, and homemade bird feeder ornaments.
