Alaska Cruise: Skagway
The day after we stopped in Juneau, we stopped in Skagway, Alaska.
Doesn't this look fake?!? This town was so adorable and mountains in the background made the perfect backdrop.
While in Skagway, we decided to do a helicopter/glacier tour. I was really nervous to take Maxwell mostly due the unknown weather conditions on the glacier. Once we found out there was a temporary shelter set up where we would land, we decided to go for it!
This kid is seriously the best travel partner. He was such a trooper and smiled through every experience.
I think Max was asleep within minutes so we were able to enjoy the amazing scenery.
The above picture is where we landed. If you look closely, you can see a white shelter, some people, and a helicopter.
The weather on the glacier was PERFECT. There was no wind and it was cool but comfortable. I was happy that I didn't have to hang out in a shelter with Maxwell while everyone else explored the glacier.
We all enjoyed a little glacier water and ice.
Maxwell stayed awake for the ride back but didn't move or make a peep.
Riding in a helicopter was a first for all of us and it was definitely a memorable experience. It was so amazing being able to see the huge glacier that receding by about 100ft every year and even better that I got to do it with my favorite guys.
