Thanksgiving Weekend

Joe's mom, sister and brother came to visit for Thanksgiving. It was so nice to spend the holiday weekend with them.

Emily and I made turkey cut-out cookies...so yummy!

Joe was very proud of the Jennie O turkey in a bag that we bought! We were a little hesitant on how it would turn out but it was a very good turkey.

6:00am- On our way to do some shopping on Black Friday!

Mia decided to sleep through the chaos.

We did a little photo shoot before everyone left on Sunday. How cute is Mia's little dress? One of my mom's friends made it... I love it!

Mia has been posing with her hand by her face since she was in the womb. Remember this photo taken after she was born (see below).

Life with Mia

On Saturday, Joe and I got out of the house for a day of fun. We had sushi for the first time in a long time (since I couldn't eat it when I was pregnant). It was soooo yummy and Mia slept soundly the whole time. : ) Then we went shopping at the outlet mall. I got two new shirts from my fav store, J Crew. It felt good to actually buy normal clothes again. I'm almost back to my normal size but can't do intense exercise until my doctor gives me the okay at my 6 week postpartum check-up. Mia and I have been walking most days to get out of the house and get a little exercise.

I love how she is holding her sock in this picture.

Getting ready for a walk. Love how she's looking at me...so sweet.

Mia is getting so big already! We ran out of newborn diapers so she has graduated to size 1 and is already wearing some 3 month clothing. : ( Mia is already sleeping in her crib...she is NOT a quiet sleeper and Joe and I weren't getting any sleep with her in our room. She has been sleeping really well at night which makes my life a lot easier.

Mia is awake more and more throughout the day and I'm sometimes lost with ways to entertain her. Babies like black and white pictures so I've been drawing pictures for her to look at. It's amazing at how long it holds her attention. She even gets so excited that her legs and arms go crazy (see below). I also have a super cute video of her playing with her rattle but I can't figure out how to post a video on my blog. I'll put it up as soon as I figure it out. (I've been putting bibs on her nonstop because she is the spit-up queen!)

We love Grandmas!

My Mom and Grandma came to visit/help out after Mia was born. They were here for almost 2 weeks and it was a HUGE blessing to have their help. They bought groceries, made yummy meals (including Thanksgiving dinner via Joe's request), cleaned and watched Mia so I could shower and eat. I had a hard time saying goodbye and was pretty sad on my drive home from the airport. Luckily, we'll see them in about 6 weeks for Christmas.

2 week check-up

We had Mia's 2 week check-up yesterday and she is continuing to grow and is perfectly healthy.

Weight: 7 pounds 11 ounces
Height: 21 inches
Head: 14 1/2

So far we think Mia has Daddy's eyes and Mommy's nose. It's amazing how much she has grown in the past two weeks.

Mia likes...
  • listening to music.
  • sleeping in her swing.
  • swinging in her swing.
  • loud noises.
  • eating.
  • cuddling with Mommy and Daddy.
  • being talked to.
  • to move her arms and legs.
Mia doesn't like...
  • sleeping in her pack and play.
  • changing her clothes.
  • being swaddled.
Daddy and Mia love hanging out when Daddy gets home from work.
I love Mia's big eyes!

Mia got a package from Tiffany's that was bigger than her! Thank you Jackie and Paul...the bank is adorable!

Big Yawn!

My swing is my favorite place to sleep.
