Let the Games Begin

I'm so excited that the Olympics are finally here!  We a few friends over last night to watch the Opening Ceremony.

I went to Pinterest to find some Olympic inspired treats. I love how my giant cookie turned out!

Intently watching the Opening Ceremony

She did a pretty good job following directions with the colors. By the time we got to the red and green rings, she started to do her own thing. : )

2 months

Naomi Kate is 2 months old today
Height: 23" (75%)
Weight: 12lbs 2.4oz (80%)
Head Circumference: 37 3/4cm (30%)
Clothing: 3 months
Diapers: size 1 (but once they are gone,we will move up to size 2)

I can't believe how fast the time is going.  She is growing so fast.  Her personality is definitely showing through.  She started smiling about 2 weeks ago and is smiling more and more every day.
She LOVES watching her sister play.  Today, Mia was singing her ABC's and dancing around Naomi.  I'm going to call this their first time really playing together. It was so sweet! Also, when I put Naomi on the floor, there wasn't a blanket on her.  I guess Mia thought she was cold. : )
I call Naomi my breath of fresh air.  She is so calm and easy going.  Sometimes she just wants to lay down without being held.  I actually put her in her crib tonight while she was awake.  I swaddled her so she new it was bedtime and she fell asleep.  No tears, just easy.

And seriously, who can resist this face?!?

A Nurturing Soul

Mia has really stepped up her role as big sister.  If Mia hears Naomi cry, she runs over to her and puts her paci back in her mouth.  It's the cutest thing.  Also, I'm happy to report that she hasn't shown any aggression towards Naomi in a few weeks!!  Naomi LOVES Mia.  She smiles when Mia talks to her and will follow her with her eyes.  I'm so excited to see these two grow up together.

Mia is definitely a nurturing soul. She takes care of Naomi and her babies throughout the day.  In every one of the pictures below she has a baby by her.  Joe is guessing she will be a nurse. I'm guessing she'll be a teacher. : )

She was so excited to wear her new outfit that her Great Aunt Elizabeth made and she enjoyed reading her new Bible from Great Grandma and Grandpa.

Sorry for the blurry picture but Mia no longer stands still when I'm trying to photograph her.

I bet you've never been alone at Costco with 4 babies in your cart.

Coloring her Olympics 2012 coloring sheet.  Can you tell I'm excited for the Olympics?!?

Don't you hate when your baby starts crying in the stroller and you have to carry them while pushing an empty stroller!

Quick trip to MN

This past weekend Naomi and I went to MN for my best buddy/old college roommate's wedding.  Unfortunately, Joe had school so he wasn't able to come.  Since I didn't want to travel alone with two little ones, Mia stayed with Joe.  Two of my good friends watched her when Joe was at work and school.  It was a quick trip but super fun.  It was so nice to getaway. Plus, it was great having my mom around so she could watch Naomi while I did wedding stuff.

Naomi on the airplane.  This girl is a rock star and didn't even make a peep on the plane!
Naomi and Cody
Naomi got to visit lots of relatives in the couples days we were visiting...
she had lots of opportunities to snuggle with grandma,

she felt the love from both sets of great grandparents,

she played with her Great Aunt Elizabeth and cousin Selene,
Great Uncle James made funny faces at her and eventually soothing noises that put her to sleep,
her dark hair fit right in with Diana and Selene,

and she loved relaxing with Uncle Brad and Auntie Karla.

We went out for a bridesmaid/birthday breakfast the day before Kari's wedding. It was so fun to hang out with the girls, get a pedicure and celebrate Kari's bday!
The rehearsal dinner.

Kari was such a beautiful bride.  I felt so honored to be apart of their wedding.

The Best Weekend

We had the best weekend.   Joe decided not to do homework on Saturday and it was exactly what we all needed.

It's the little things in life that make me happy.

I don't want expensive jewelry.  I want time.

Time together will always be my number one.

While Mia and I were out running Saturday morning, Joe got to witness Naomi give him a huge smile.

She continued to smile throughout the day.

Even when she was given breast milk in a bottle for the first time.
