Christmas Eve Eve

On the Eve of Christmas Eve we celebrated Christmas at my Grandma and Grandpa Esteb's house. My Grandma made a delicious meal and it was great to see everyone

I think she likes it!

What a busy day!

Mia's first flight

On Dec. 22, Mia took her first airplane ride. Luckily, we were only traveling to Minneapolis which is a short flight.

At the airport waiting to board.

Mia had a major blow out on the airplane so we had to do a complete wipe down with a clothing change. Good thing Joe is smart and reserved the aisle and window seat with the hope that no one would take the middle. The plan worked and we had a spot to change the baby.

Just hanging out.

Christmas Party

We had a semi-formal Christmas Party last night. It was so much fun to spend time with friends! Our lives have revolved around Mia the last 8 weeks and we haven't had much time to socialize so this was a much needed party. Mia also had her first babysitter and did great! It was all around a great night.

The yummy dessert buffet. (We forgot to take a picture of the food table but it was very festive and fun!)

Mandy (my good friend and walking buddy), Darci (my friend and hairstylist) and Shannon ( a friend that has just recently come back to our church).
Our good friends Jeremy and Caitlin and Austin (our church worship pastor).

Friends.

After majority of people left, a handful of us had time to talk, laugh and enjoy each other.

Christmas Photo Shoot 2010

My good friend, Mandy did a great job capturing some memories for our family. These are Mia's 6 week pictures. Here are a few of my favorite pictures that didn't make the cut for the Christmas card.

These were my mom's shoes when she was a baby. Love them.

I love the drool hanging down...priceless!

Only 5 more days till Christmas! I so excited to see my family and friends in MN. I already got the best present this year two months before Christmas. I feel so blessed.

Merry Christmas!

Love, Kellie

Grandpa Jones

Joe's dad came to visit last weekend. It was great getting to spend some time with him and introducing him to his granddaughter.

Joe and his Dad went to Red Rock Amphitheatre which is always beautiful!

Mia and her Grandpa Jones (she wasn't exactly cooperating the pictures).

Joe's cousins were in CO for the weekend and stopped by to visit. It was great to see them and show off Mia.

Life's Hiccups

It seems as though I only post the positive things that happen in our lives. We are a normal family and do have the occasional "hiccup". I tend to be an optimist and really only like to find good in things. Well the reason I haven't posted in over a week is because I got Mastitis which is a breast infection from breastfeeding. There isn't anything positive about it so I'll just tell it as it is. On Monday, I had severe pain in my left breast and started feeling really cold. After a little over an hour, I started shivering uncontrollably so I called the doctor and they told me to come in right away. Fever, chills, achy body and a very sore/swollen breast = Mastitis. Luckily, Joe came home from work immediately and worked from home the next day because all I wanted to do was lay on the couch. I was miserable. I did still need to feed Mia (she can't catch the infection since she gave it to me) but besides feedings, she was with Daddy. I am almost 100% better, which is good because we are hosting a Christmas party tomorrow. I've realized that being a Mommy is all about decisions. Once Mia falls asleep for a nap should I... clean, shower, eat, do laundry, update my blog, return a call and then to only find that she wakes up before I made my decision!

Posts Coming Soon: Grandpa Jones' visit, more smiley Mia pictures and our family Christmas pictures.

(I should probably get our Christmas cards in the mail before updating again.)

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Smile

The Christmas season can get a little hectic but don't forget to stop and SMILE! Mia has been super smiley lately and every time I see her grin, I can't help but feel pure joy. I feel so blessed to have her in my life.

So Sweet

Joe bought Mia this M&M onsie at the M&M store in Vegas before she was born. It's a little big but sooo cute! (Don't mind the major spit-up going down the front.)

The "green girls". I look a little scary...Mia decided not to sleep much the night before.

Thanksgiving Weekend

Joe's mom, sister and brother came to visit for Thanksgiving. It was so nice to spend the holiday weekend with them.

Emily and I made turkey cut-out cookies...so yummy!

Joe was very proud of the Jennie O turkey in a bag that we bought! We were a little hesitant on how it would turn out but it was a very good turkey.

Grandma Kathy and Mia

Mia always saves the biggest smiles for Daddy.

Our Thanksgiving Feast...yum!

Mike and Emily playing the Wii.

Brothers.

Mia and Daddy resting after a long day.

6:00am- On our way to do some shopping on Black Friday!

Mia decided to sleep through the chaos.

We did a little photo shoot before everyone left on Sunday. How cute is Mia's little dress? One of my mom's friends made it... I love it!

Mia has been posing with her hand by her face since she was in the womb. Remember this photo taken after she was born (see below).
