Letter of the Week: Yy

Yawn is an adorable board book with rhyming text that is perfect to read before naps and bedtime.

Y is for Yellow

All of these books were super cute but, Press Here is one of those books that every child should experience.  It is an interactive book that you and your children will love, just trust me and go get it!

This week we mainly focused on the color yellow.  Yellow is Mia's favorite color so we devoted the week to the color.

For our Yy sheet, I took out yellow crayons, markers, paints and stickers and let the girls go crazy.

We also planned a yellow themed play-date (unfortunately, Naomi woke up with a fever the day of the party so we had to cancel) but since I set everything up the night before, the girls and I still enjoyed the party with the three of us!  When Mia woke up and saw the decorations, she said, "Mom, it looks so beautiful!"  That made it all worth it.  : )

I made yellow play dough and packaged some up in to give to our friends.

The girls made yellow crowns and decorated them with stickers and markers.

Y is for Yummy and Yucky

Yummy Yucky is a favorite book around here.  It has a simple text that lists yummy foods and yucky foods.  After reading, Yummy Yucky, I had Mia tell me some foods that she thought were yummy and foods that she thought were yucky.  We then made a little book with her answers.
